Happy Birthday Annie Oakley!!!
Celebrate Annie Oakley's birthday with Cassandra Sotos and Frontier Coffee Company
Debut Single “Annie Oakley” Available NOW!
"Annie Oakley" was inspired by the legacy of renowned sharpshooter Annie Oakley. The rockin' track is part Joan Jett, part Charlie Daniels, and all badass. "It's not a revenge song, it's not a woman-scorned song," she said. "It's about empowerment. Annie wasn't just one of best female sharpshooters of her time, she was one of the best sharpshooters of her time, period. Her legacy inspired me to write this song, and to empower others. This song is all about saying don't mess with me. I want all women to feel that way, regardless of what they do for a living or for fun.”
The track is her debut as an artist, rather than just a violinist. While her life has been dedicated to music since the age of four, it's had some twists and turns. Like most, she fell into the world’s expectations of following a more “acceptable” career path and became an industrial engineer in New York City. She immediately felt lost in the corporate world, and decided to quit her job and move to Nashville in 2014. Since, she has been a full time musician performing in Music City regularly, touring across the United States and the world (with Indian pop and Bollywood superstar Arijit Singh).
